ABOUT US
AntiVenom Recovery Ministry is a Christ-centered nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals in recovery, those choosing to live a sober lifestyle, and their families. We also serve veterans and underserved communities by providing accessible programs that promote physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Our mission is to empower individuals to build healthier, more fulfilling lives through wellness education, supportive community, and practical tools for lasting recovery.
Addiction has touched the lives of many families, including our founder’s. Through those experiences, we witnessed firsthand the importance of community, structure, and healthy outlets in sustaining recovery and fostering hope. AntiVenom Recovery Ministry was founded in 2021 with the belief that true healing happens when individuals are supported in caring for the whole person—mind, body, and spirit.
Our programs focus on practical, sustainable strategies that support long-term wellness and recovery. We offer free fitness classes, health and wellness coaching, nutrition education, and nutrition coaching to individuals in recovery, those seeking to practice a sober lifestyle, their families, veterans, and underserved populations. Through fitness, outdoor activities, recovery support, and wellness education, we help participants develop healthy coping skills, reduce stress, improve overall health, and build a strong foundation for lasting change.
We recognize that recovery affects more than just the individual—it impacts entire families and communities. That is why we are committed to helping families develop healthy coping skills, effective stress-management techniques, and positive lifestyle habits that strengthen family relationships and resilience. By teaching these skills, we aim to help decrease the risk of substance abuse in both current and future generations, creating healthier family systems and stronger communities for years to come.
We believe that physical wellness plays a vital role in recovery. Regular exercise can help reduce anxiety and stress, improve sleep, boost mood, and increase self-confidence. Proper nutrition supports the body’s healing process, helps stabilize mood, and promotes overall well-being. In addition, we encourage spiritual growth through faith-based principles and practices that foster purpose, connection, hope, and resilience.
At AntiVenom Recovery Ministry, we believe recovery is about more than abstinence—it is about rebuilding a life filled with health, purpose, faith, and meaningful connection. Whether someone is taking their first steps toward recovery or seeking ongoing support in maintaining a sober lifestyle, we are committed to walking alongside them on their journey.
Together, we are turning poison into power.
OUR FOUNDER
Dawn Quijada didn't come to this ministry through theory or textbooks; she came through the trenches. Having witnessed the devastating impact of addiction on her own family members, Dawn knows firsthand the heartbreak, the helplessness, and the desperate prayers that come with loving someone in the grip of substance abuse. But she also knows something else: that freedom is possible, and that no one is beyond the reach of God's redemptive power.
It was this battle, watching loved ones struggle, fall, and fight, that ignited an unshakable passion within Dawn's heart. She couldn't stand by and watch another family torn apart, another life wasted, another person convinced they were too far gone to be saved. Out of her own pain and her deep faith in Christ, AntiVenom Recovery Ministry was born.
Dawn believes that everyone deserves the chance to taste their power after tasting the poison. Her mission is rooted in compassion, fueled by experience, and anchored in the unwavering belief that Jesus Christ is the ultimate healer and restorer. She founded AntiVenom not just to help people stay sober, but to help them get free, truly, completely, powerfully free.
